The Woodville Deer and Wildlife Festival celebrates the cultural, culinary and artistic heritage of Woodville and Wilkinson County, Mississippi.
The Festival seeks to engage local citizens in order to build community pride and to enhance the cultural life of our community through the arts – music, writing, taxidermy, photography, crafts, and cooking.
The long-standing tradition of hunting wild game for food is showcased in our “Wild Game Cook Off”. Cook Teams present dishes as varied as alligator, duck, venison, and wild hog.
Local artisans demonstrate wooden bowl and spoon carving, pine needle basket-making, quilting, and taxidermy. Area musicians infuse the Festival air with blues, rock, and gospel music.
Photographs depicting fifty years of hunting along with dozens of trophy deer mounts are displayed in one of our Museums on the square.
